Hard to read but good content
Actually I meant to review the other slightly shorter version here which is much easier to read and with the citations in the text: http://www.archive.org/details/sermonsforallsun00liguuoft
This one I'd only give 2 stars on account of the legibility problem.
Maybe there is less healthy fear of God and of going to hell as well as much lower moral standards today on account of priests and other religious leaders not challenging their flocks to true conversion as St Alphonsus was not afraid to do. My bishop might send a priest for "re-education" or something if he had the courage to preach like this - and that's not saying anything against the preaching!
Keep in mind that this is the last declared male Doctor of the Church (Catherine and the two Theresas coming later).
